Yamaha collaborated with recording artists to develop SRT Powered, a new system designed to recreate the body resonance of an acoustic guitar in a bodiless guitar. This system is tailored to the unique properties of the SLG body and modeled after the tones of a high-end Yamaha acoustic guitar, capturing its sound using a carefully selected microphone in a professional recording studio environment.
By reproducing the sound of an acoustic guitar, including its natural sustain and decay, Yamaha allows guitarists to experience the genuine body resonance, body tone, and ambience of an acoustic guitar. The SRT Powered sound can also be mixed with the sound from the instrument's piezo pickups, giving guitarists more flexibility in their creative endeavors.
The SLG, with steel strings and a natural finish, is the perfect instrument for practice, travel, or stage use in situations where an acoustic guitar is not suitable. Its near-silent performance makes discrete practice simple, and its fingerboard width (0F, 14F) of 43mm - 55mm (1 11/16 - 2 5/32 inches) makes it comfortable to play.
Yamaha’s exclusive SRT-Powered pickup system gives incredibly natural acoustic tone through headphones or line-out. Additionally, on-board studio-quality effects enhance playing to perfection, while line-in functionality makes jamming easy.
